Lakewood Regional Medical Center Names Virg Narbutas Chief Executive Officer

Lakewood, Calif. – Tenet Health Pacific Coast has appointed Virg Narbutas as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at Lakewood Regional Medical Center, effective May 19, 2022. Virg will succeed current CEO John Grah, who is retiring after 13 years of service with Tenet Health.

During John’s tenure, Lakewood Regional Medical Center achieved accreditation of Stroke Services and recognition by Los Angeles County Emergency Management Services. He also led the implementation of an Intensive Care Unit Intensivist Program and expansion of Cardiovascular Services.

“We are grateful for John’s leadership and commitment to providing excellent care to the Lakewood community and know that Virg will make an outstanding addition to the team,” said Bryan R. Rogers, Group CEO for Tenet Health Pacific Coast.

Virg was COO of Lakewood Regional Medical Center from 1990-1994 and has since served as a Regional CEO for three acute care hospitals and as a CEO at Long Term Acute Care hospitals throughout Southern California.

“Virg is a successful healthcare executive with over 30 years of experience in hospital leadership roles,” added Rogers. “He is a skilled and accomplished leader in operations management and medical staff relations, and we are thrilled to welcome him back to the Lakewood family.”

Virg is a graduate of University of California, Los Angeles with a Bachelor of Arts, Biology, and a Master of Public Health in Health Services Management.

Virg currently resides in Long Beach with his wife and has two adult children.
