Lakewood Regional Medical Center’s ‘Three East Unit’ Team of Registered Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants Named Tenet Heroes
May 9, 2021
LAKEWOOD, Calif – Lakewood Regional Medical Center announced today that the Registered Nurses (RNs) and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) of the hospital’s ‘Three East Unit’, have been honored by Tenet Healthcare as part of its annual recognition program. The Team has been named “Tenet Heroes” for their incredible contributions in 2020.
The Tenet Heroes program celebrates those individuals who make a meaningful impact within their respective communities that goes above and beyond their daily job responsibilities. Nominated by fellow colleagues, Tenet Heroes exemplify the company’s core values and key tenets of its Community Built on Care.
When our Three East Unit became designated as the COVID-19 unit for the medical center we witnessed an amazing display of bravery and commitment by our entire team of RNs and CNAs. Staff from other areas of the hospital stepped up to volunteer on the unit at a time when streets and stores were empty, and fear of the unknown was paramount.
No mountain was too high, and as a team, they lifted each other in exceptional ways. They put their lives on the line to help others. From providing homemade nursing caps and PPE equipment during times of shortage to checking-in on each other personally, offering personal care and family support.
“Isolating from family and loved ones, while putting your life on the line to serve patients - is an extraordinary sacrifice.” said John Grah, Lakewood’s Chief Executive Officer. “We are forever grateful to each of them for their willingness and commitment to providing excellent patient care during this most unprecedented time.”
