We are committed to providing a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience. To do so, we are actively working with consultants to update the website by increasing its accessibility and usability by persons who use assistive technologies
such as automated tools, keyboard-only navigation, and screen readers.
We are working to have the website conform to the relevant standards of the Section 508 Web Accessibility Standards developed by the United States Access Board, as
well as the World Wide Web Consortium's (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1. These standards and guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities. We believe that conformance with these standards and
guidelines will help make the website more user friendly for all people.
Our efforts are ongoing. While we strive to have the website adhere to these guidelines and standards, it is not always possible to do so in all areas of the website.
If, at any time, you have specific questions or concerns about the accessibility of any particular webpage, please contact WebsiteAccess@tenethealth.com so that we may be of assistance.
At Lakewood Regional Medical Center, we want to provide care to the entire community. For patients who do not have insurance coverage, have a low income or have incurred very high medical expenses within the last 12 months, we provide some alternate funding and payment plan options. We will work with you to explore options available to you based on government and hospital rules and regulations. To get you started, here is an overview of some of the financial assistance programs we provide.
Medical Eligibility Program (MEP)
You may qualify to have all or part of your hospital services paid for through government programs. MEP is a program available to you free of cost. Our hospital’s Patient Advocates will assist you in the application process. You may be interested in this program if you meet one of the following criteria:
Are under 21 or over 65 years old
Have children in the household
Are potentially disabled
Are a victim of a crime
Government programs for which you may qualify
Following are some government programs for which you might be able to take advantage. You can also download the Medi-Cal application or call us at (855) 580-3668 to get started.
Temporary Assistance for Needy Families
Social Security Disability
Supplemental Security Income
Victims of a Violent Crime Fund
If you do not have the means to pay for hospital expenses and do not qualify for any government programs, you may qualify for our Charity Care, a financial assistance program. To qualify, you must meet the following criteria:
Household income below 350% of the federal poverty limit, or
Annual medical costs that exceed 10% of your household income in the past 12 months
As part of the process of qualifying for Charity Care, we will need you to provide information on your household finances through a confidential financial application. We will request documentation to verify your circumstances in order to determine eligibility. For additional information or to begin the process of qualifying, please call us at (855) 580-3668.
Uninsured Discount Program
If you are uninsured, we have discounts for which you may be eligible. Our Patient Advocates will go through the rules with you and help you to determine your eligibility for these discounts. To talk with a Patient Advocate, please call us at (855) 580-3668.
Our Patient Advocates can also connect you with some non-profit credit counseling services in your area.
Payment Plan Agreements
Lakewood Regional Medical Center offers a Payment Plan Agreement which provides the ability to spread out payments over time.
