  • A designated STEMI receiving center for critical heart patients
  • Online ER check-in to decrease your wait time
  • Personalized care by a staff with advanced training in emergency medicine in a well-equipped department

Our fully accredited, state-of-the-art emergency room offers easy access and convenient parking. Highly trained physicians and triage nurses treat conditions ranging from broken bones to life-threatening injuries.

Following your ER visit, we can connect you with a primary care physician or specialists within our network to help manage your ongoing care.

What to expect

A triage nurse sees every patient upon arrival in the emergency room to identify patients who have life-threatening emergencies or very serious injuries. As in any emergency department, this type of patient must be seen first.

We know you hate to wait, especially when you’re ill, and our staff makes every effort to get patients to a treatment room as quickly as possible. During busier hours, there may be a longer wait to see a doctor. Our staff continually monitors our patients while they are in the waiting room, but report to the ER staff immediately if your condition worsens while you are waiting to be treated.

Check in online

One way to decrease your wait in the ER is to use our popular online ER check-in before arrival. This will simplify paperwork once you arrive and put you in line to be seen before you even leave your home.

Have a minor injury or illness, such as a sprained ankle, cut requiring stitches or a lingering fever? We offer a FastTrack service during select hours for these types of issues. When the Fast Track service is open, patients with minor emergencies are sent to beds set aside for this service — allowing you to receive prompt attention and get home more quickly.

Advanced heart and stroke care

Heart attacks and strokes are frequent causes for emergency room visits. To prepare for such events, our emergency team follows proper protocol to assure heart and stroke patients receive potentially lifesaving treatment as quickly as possible. Lakewood is designated by Los Angeles County Emergency Medical Services as a STEMI receiving center for the care of heart patients. Studies have proven that STEMI receiving centers provide patients the best chances of survival from a heart attack.

Visitors Welcome

Family members are welcome to stay with patients whenever possible. In certain circumstances, they may be asked to remain in the waiting area, there may also be a limit on the number of visitors in the room at one time. In those cases, our staff will make every effort to keep family members and friends informed of your status and condition.
